The 2025 season proved to be a memorable one for Madi, both at club level and with the U.S. Women’s National Team.
Having completed her final year with the Texas Longhorns at the tail end of 2024, our Katy-born star made the decision to remain in the Lone Star State — signing with LOVB Austin in the newly-formed League One Volleyball professional league.
It proved to be a wise choice as Madi went on to enjoy a successful campaign with the Texans, culminating in a trophy and individual recognition for the 24-year-old.
The season began in January and it didn’t take long for the opposite hitter to make an impact, as she put 27 points on the board during a 3-2 defeat to Houston at the Fort Bend County Epicenter.
That was the most of any player on the court, but didn’t lead to a win for her new side — though that maiden victory arrived just a matter of hours later, when Austin swept Madison the very next day.
A pattern of inconsistency was the team’s Achilles' heel throughout the regular season, but Madi was still able to rack up some remarkable points hauls, regardless of results.
Highlights included a Player of the Game display in Chris McGown’s first match as interim head coach, with Madi scoring 26 points in a 3-1 triumph over Houston.
In fact, Houston proved to be a popular opponent for the three-time NCAA Championship winner, with a number of first-class performances against Massimo Barbolini’s charges.
That included a record of 25 points, 23 kills, two blocks, 13 digs and an assist when the sides met in March — though it was the team in blue who claimed a 3-1 win on that occasion.
A tally of 22 kills and 17 digs against Omaha later that month was notable, too, as was a 22-point return versus Salt Lake in the final regular season match of 2025.
It was the post-season where Madi really made her mark, though. She saved her best performances until the LOVB Finals — coming up clutch as Austin produced remarkable reverse sweeps against Salt Lake and Atlanta to reach the title decider.
The numbers speak for themselves: 22 points, 29 points and a further 21 points in the trophy-clinching 3-0 win against Omaha.
It meant a first piece of professional silverware for Madi and also saw her named LOVB Finals MVP, to cap off a truly sensational rookie campaign.
Having amassed an eye-catching 227 regular season points across the year, it was perhaps no surprise that an international call-up arrived as we moved into the summer.
Madi was selected to represent the United States at both the 2025 Volleyball Nations League and FIVB World Championship, taking her to a host of countries across the globe.
Visits to Brazil, Serbia and Poland in the Nations League saw the USA reach the competition’s finals, as Erik Sullivan’s unit picked up six victories before being eliminated by Italy.
A 3-2 preliminary round triumph over Serbia was particularly notable, with Madi registering a staggering 32 points from 30 kills and two blocks in Belgrade.
Next up was a trip to Thailand for the World Championship and an improved performance from the United States, who got as far as the quarter-finals after three group stage wins and a sweep of North American rivals Canada in the Round of 16.
Though getting past eventual finalists Türkiye proved a bridge too far, Madi could nonetheless look back on a personal tally of 42 points in Nakhon Ratchasima and Bangkok — and a total of 153 points across both international tournaments.
An enjoyable summer brought the curtain down on an action-packed and successful year for Madi — and we’re sure there’s plenty more to come in 2026!
