Madi has enjoyed an action-packed summer representing the U.S. Women’s National Team across the globe — in both the Volleyball Nations League and the FIVB World Championship.
So we thought we’d take a look at a few of the numbers behind her recent matches for Erik Sullivan’s side.
Here are some of the key facts and figures from across the two tournaments…
4
The number of countries that Madi visited with the USA over the summer.
She travelled to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil for Week 1 of the Nations League preliminary round, before heading to Belgrade, Serbia for Week 2’s matches.
A return home to Arlington, Texas followed in Week 3, ahead of the final round in Łódź, Poland.
Then it was time for the World Championship Thailand, with the United States’ games taking place in Nakhon Ratchasima and Bangkok.
11
That’s how many wins the U.S. Women’s National Team achieved in both competitions.
They racked up triumphs against South Korea (3-0), Serbia (3-2), the Netherlands (3-0), France (3-2), Thailand (3-1) and the Dominican Republic (3-1) during the Nations League preliminary round.
A trio of World Championship group stage victories followed — against Slovenia (3-1), Argentina (3-1) and Czechia (3-0) — before beating Canada in the round of 16 (3-0).
36
When you factor in the above results, and the USA’s defeats to Italy (x2), Brazil, Czechia, Poland, China and Türkiye, they won a total of 36 sets across the summer.
15
That’s the number of international games that Madi has featured in since early June.
She played in ten of the USA’s 13 Nations League matches, having been rested against Brazil, Poland and China.
And the 24-year-old appeared in every one of the team’s World Championship clashes, as they reached the quarter-finals.
153
Madi’s points total of 153 over both tournaments is certainly an impressive record.
She registered 111 of those during the Nations League, before adding a further 42 at the World Championship in Thailand.
128 + 16 + 9
That’s how Madi’s Nations League and World Championship tally is broken down by attacking points (97+31), block points (8+8) and serve points (6+3).
32
Our LOVB Austin star put in a sensational performance in the USA’s Nations League game against Serbia — posting an outstanding 32 points from 30 kills and two blocks in Belgrade.
12
That haul against Serbia was Madi’s highest of the summer, but her best knockout round performance came against Canada in the World Championship round of 16.
She put 12 points on the board from 10 kills, a block and an ace, as the USA swept their fellow North Americans to reach the quarter-finals.
