Madi’s Austin side won the inaugural LOVB Championship Trophy earlier this year — but our Katy-born star is no stranger to securing silverware.
In fact, her 2025 title triumph and Finals MVP award are just the latest in a host of successes for the 24-year-old, primarily while playing for the Texas Longhorns.
Madi made the switch to the Gregory Gymnasium ahead of the 2022 season, having already won her first NCAA Division I championship with the Kentucky Wildcats in 2020.
It proved to be a smart move, as she immediately claimed another title in her inaugural campaign with the Wildcats — the first the team had won since 2012.
She posted some commendable numbers, too, amassing 344 kills at an average of 3.66 kills per set, with a total of 381 points across the year.
That included 12 kills in the final against Louisville, as Madi proved she could come up with the goods on big occasions.
“It [the team] feels like a family,” she said, when reflecting on that season.
“The hard work and us investing in our friendships and each other as people translated on the court and we genuinely enjoyed playing together and being alongside one another and supported each other no matter what.”
And more was to come in 2023, as Texas retained their title with Madi taking her game to the next level.
Featuring in all 32 matches, the current USA international racked up an eye-watering 547 kills and 4.8 kills per set, alongside 46 service aces, 223 digs and 72 blocks.
She saved a handful of her best performances for the NCAA Division I tournament itself, posting some personal best numbers along the way.
A career-high 26 kills was achieved in the regional semi-final win against Tennessee, as well as six aces in the semi-final triumph over Wisconsin. Meanwhile, her display in the final against Nebraska yielded an impressive 16 kills.
So it was perhaps no surprise that Madi was named the NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player, alongside a host of other individual accolades that year.
They included VolleyballMag.com National Player of the Year, the Honda Sports Award and being selected as the Big 12’s Female Athlete of the Year.
That season represented Madi’s last NCAA title, as Texas exited at the regional semi-final stage in 2024 — her final campaign with the Longhorns.
But she can nonetheless look back on an immensely successful three years at the Gregory Gymnasium, both from a personal perspective and in terms of team honors.
